Childcare vouchers now have a very important part to play in the everyday lives of working families. At last, there has been a true and genuine incentive introduced which generates substantial cash savings for each working parent.
The employer plays a very important part in the childcare voucher process, and the introduction and successful operation of a childcare scheme provides employers with an instant staff retention tool.
Register with Fennies Vouchers and just let your parents and their employers do the rest. It really is that simple. You will still receive the same pounds value in money for the childcare you offer, but your parents will be better off due to the tax and national insurance savings.
In order to provide effective early years based education, planning, care of the children, we operate a division of age groups and key worker system. Each age group has a dedicated room, equipment and staff focused solely on the needs of that age group. This makes the care of each group more specific and individual.
Babies
0 to 2 years
Fennie's Baby rooms are kept as homely as possible. The babies are given the opportunity to develop physically, socially and emotionally and when the time comes they are encouraged to crawl, walk, drink unaided and feed themselves. Our aim is to work closely with you to ensure continuity when dealing with their different development stages such as feeding. We aim to teach the babies to become sociable toddlers and to learn to play and share with one another.
Toddlers
2 to 3 years
A Toddlers participate in more free play activites which encourage confidence and interaction with peers. This is usually the time when we work closely with parents to achieve toilet training. In partnership with parents we strive to develop understanding about right and wrong through clear behaviour expectations as children develop social skills.
Pre-School
3 to 5 years
At this stage the environment supports children’s independent thinking and learning across the curriculum as independence skills are encouraged throughout the day. Children are encouraged to develop autonomy, recognising their own needs such as when they need a drink or need to use the bathroom. Activities provided build on children’s current stage of learning and include ICT skills.
Parent Partnership
We aim to develop a sound partnership with parents or carers of all children attending our nurseries, recognising them as the most knowledgeable about the child/ children entering our care and valuing their role as primary educators. We respect parent’s personal preferences for child rearing and will endeavour to support and continue them within the structure of the nursery day.
Key Person
All children are assigned a key person as they start at the nursery who is responsible for building the relationship between home and nursery. In particular they play an important part in supporting the family during the settling in process.
The key person will carry out observation of the child throughout the day and use these to develop individual learning experiences for them. These will be collected in a profile record which parents can access at any time.
The key person will discuss the child’s next steps informally with parents on a regular basis in order to create a link between children’s home and nursery experiences. Parent evenings are held three times a year for a more formal presentation of the child’s learning experiences over the past few months.
For children aged 3months-2 years a daily record sheet is completed to ensure the information you need to know is readily available.
